St. Mary’s College J5 V   A S Milano

A mix up saw St. Mary’s kicking off later then planned against their Italian visitors last Friday night.

That the players were keen to get going was clear as both sides opened at a frantic pace, which the referee likened to a much higher standard afterwards. The Italians we characteristically physical, particularly up front, and they barged their way over for a couple of tries midday through the second half. Mary’s bounced back with a breakout try through Kieran Morrissey.

Milano took a well worked try in the shadow of the trees in the corner just before half time.

In the second half Mary’s made full use of the agreement to use rolling subs, and after failing to convert a couple of great chances eventually crossed the whitewash through Kieran again, following a Milano score early in the second half.

The real story of the night were the post match celebrations, led by captain for the day Simone, who at the time of writing, has not surfaced.
