President’s Message

Welcome Message From the President

Dear Fellow Members and Friends,

Thank you sincerely for renewing your annual membership for the year 2022-23. Whether you are brand new to the club or have been a member for many years your subscription counts enormously and is the lifeblood of the club.

We are all looking forward with great excitement and well-founded ambition, to the forthcoming season and we wish every success to our Club Captain, Ronan Watters, our new Head, Coach Sean Cronin assisted by Jamie Cornett, Marcus O’Driscoll, Conor Dean and Seamus Toomey, our new J1 coach Sean Healy, all the players within the squad and the Management Team of Paudge McGill, Paul Conlon, Conor O’Neill, Paul Pender and our New J1 manager Darren Walker.

The Club is thrilled that Sarah Brennan has re- established our women’s team. We wish her and her team every success in building the squad, and over the coming seasons, developing this important section of our club.

To all our teams competing in the Metro Leagues, our U20s, youths and Mini boys & girls, to all the coaches, managers, and volunteers who give up so much of their free time, I thank you and I wish you every success for the season ahead.

A warm welcome on behalf of all our members to our new Main Sponsor, Maples Group, and a special thanks for your generosity in supporting our Club. We look forward to shared successes together.

To all our other Sponsors including Soft-Co, G-Mack, Fanagans Funeral Homes, The Chawke Group, and Morgan Crowe, a huge thank you for your ongoing and continuous support. It is greatly appreciated.

Members! Please remember this is your club and the Club benefits from you being here. Come down and support the teams, use the gym, use the bar, attend a lunch, meet new friends and enjoy the rugby. I look forward to seeing you at the matches, both home and away, supporting all our great teams.

The Club always needs new volunteers so, if you have any time or want to get involved at any level, please let me know.

I would remind all players that while you are covered under the compulsory IRFU insurance scheme, it provides benefits for serious injury only. Therefore, we advise you to consider your position regarding medical costs and loss of income. To this end we encourage all players to make their own arrangements for insurance cover.

Here’s to a winning season on and off the pitches!

Yours in Rugby,

Gareth Roche,

President,
