Club Welfare Officer
Child Welfare Protection Policy
St. Mary’s College RFC strongly supports national and IRFU child protection policies. Consequently, the Executive Committee appoints coaches, team managers and any others involved in the participation of players under 18 years of age in rugby training or related activities. The criteria for appointments are that such persons should be members of the Club; must, in the case of coaches, have completed or be about to participate in the appropriate Leinster Rugby coaching course and have sought Garda Vetting clearance; and should, in the case of Mini Rugby (Under 6 through to Under 12), have a child participating in Mini Rugby.

Vetting
All coaches of minis and youths, and anyone working with children in our club, must apply for vetting through Rugby Connect. The Director of Mini Rugby (Mossy Davin), the Director of Youth Rugby (Robbie O’Neill), and our Club Welfare Officer (Pearl Healy) can help with any questions.
Please note there are two options — make sure you select the correct one:
- Occasional work with children (this does not include coaching underage teams)
- Regular work with children — this includes all minis and youths coaches
