                            St Mary’s College J5 B XV 20-15 Terenure

On a cold and windy night the J5 B XV took on local rivals in a friendly in Templeville Road.
The format of the game was 3 halves of twenty minutes with no conversions.

The conditions dictated the way the game was played. In the first half Terenure took advantage of a spilled pass and went over for the first try of the game. Straight from the re-start Marys managed to turn over the ball. After some great play 2nd row Darragh Coffey went over for the score. 5-5. Thats the way it stayed for the half.

In the 2nd half we were playing into the wind. A lot of the play was in our half. Mid way through the half full back Steve Daly made a break and got a score. Not long after Terenure got through our line to level the scores. 10-10.

For the final half we again had the wind in our favour and tried to use it to advantage. Terenure had to keep running the ball. The got through our lines to take the lead. Not long after scrum half Dave Daly levelled the scrum. Good pressure late on yield another try for the scrum half to win the game 20-15.

Many thanks to U21 players Jack Ebbs, Dave Daly, Steve Daly and Radu Verdes for playing tonight. Also thanks to Richard Pyne from the J4’s.

A good run out for the J5 B’s tonight and a good win.
