President’s Christmas Message

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, how wonderful the club looks, with painted windows, sparkling decorations, and glistening trees. Thank you Pokey, Rebecca Edgworth for making the place look great. Thanks also Rebecca, Conor Kinear and the many volunteers for putting on the mini rugby Christmas party and putting big smiles on the faces of the kids.

Thank you also to Ronnie Douglas, Niall Cogley and Rynner for the memorable Christmas carols night. And thank you to all the singers. This is a wonderful tradition and one of the things that makes our club such a special place.

What a wonderful Christmas present from Ronan Watters and the First squad, Mark McHugh and the coaching and management team for us to be sitting on the top of the table in Division 1A of the All Ireland League.

The success of the First team is permeating through the club with many of the Junior teams and the U20s being really competitive, sitting near or at the top of their respective Leagues. Well done to all their coaches and managers.

In the immortal words of Bon Jovi: “We’re half way there, living on a prayer”. But at this time of year spare a thought for those less fortunate than ourselves, at the other end of the table😊. I know all teams will be taking a well earned break and start back training early to keep the momentum going.

May this Christmas bring you joy, peace, and time to spend with your loved ones. As we look to the new year, I am filled with anticipation for the exciting opportunities ahead.

Wishing you all a merry and peaceful Christmas and a happy and successful New Year filled with good health and happiness.

Yours in Rugby,

Paudge McGill,

President,
