St Mary’s College J5 V Seapoint J4
06 50
Cabinteely Park
A gutsy St.Mary’s College J5s suffered defeat at the hands of an impressive Seapoint outfit under the floodlights of Cabinteely Park on Friday last. After a brusingly competitve opening to the game and a brace of penalties from the ever dependable Adrian Malone, a number of defensive lapses allowed Seapoint to run in enough tries to effectively secure the win by half time. With only pride left to play for, the boys in blue battled hard after the break and most of the second half was spent in the homeside’s 22. Unlucky not to get over the Seapoint line and misfortunate enough to concede a couple of soft breakaway tries, the final score line gives an unfair reflection of the contest. Also, a worrying injury to the St.Mary’s captain Maurice “The Destroyer” Davin which he sustained after administering a herculean hit on the opposition number 6 added to the team’s woes. Stellar performance from Anto O’ Hanlon and Mark Delany gave glimpses of the side’s potential.
