J5 XV 14-05 Clondalkin
On Saturday morning the J5’s got the second half of the season underway, hoping to start 2011 the same way the end 2010, with a win. In wet and very windy conditions at home we took on Clondalkin.
The 1st half was pretty tight. Rustiness showed, but we started getting into our stride. Midway through the half we were reward for some good play with 2nd row Eamonn Walsh going over. David Crowley landed the conversion. 7-0. Thats the way is stayed at half time.
The 2nd half was a close affair again. Again midway through the half we managed to break through with scrum half Kieran Morrissey scoring. Crowley again added the 2 points. 14-0. Clondalkin tried to get themselves back into the game. A few defensive mistakes inside our 22 led to Clondalkin going over. Conversion was missed. 14-05. In the last 10 mins we made up for conceding the try with some good attacking displays but were unable to get any further scores. Game finished 14-05.
After such a long break (last game was in November) since our last game it was great to get back to winning ways. Next up is an away game against Malahide.
