St. Mary’s 27 Old Wesley 22

Despite struggling badly for long periods of this top of table Metro Division 2 clash Mary’s pulled through with a last minute try in the corner by Graham Crawford. The team showed great spirit to come back from a 19 12 deficit in the second half against a very well drilled, young Wesley J1 side. We also earned a bonus point which was amazing given the game. Tries by Johnny Ellis, Ronda and Ciaran Murphy’s try and strong place kicking did the job in a below par performance of poor defending, weak rucking, bad scrummaging and general lack of intensity. The home crowd at the end of the game were great and it was brilliant to be cheered on by so many in a very exciting and dramatic finish.
