The J5s had a chance to run the unlucky cup defeat to ‘Tarf out of the system, by taking on Barnhall in a friendly under lights. We managed to rustle together a side before kick off with thanks to a few guest players. Griso lined out for the first half with Donners and former J3 Captain Dave Lyons playing the full game.

The game started off at a fast pace as most friendlies tend to do. The first 15 mins was pretty close but we finally managed to cross the line. That started off a good spell up to half time with us going over for a few more. The kicking duties were spread around with even me scoring a kick.

In the second half we let them in for an early. It was only a blip as normal serve soon resumed and we scored a good few more tries. A nice way to prepare for the J5 Blitz at home on Saturday with one of our few wins of the season. Many thanks to the guest players on the night. Eamo Moran from the J4s had a good performance as the ref on the night.

The D.P. Smyth J5 blitz will be kicking off at 12 in the club on Saturday. This will the last action for the season for the J5s.
