Sunday 9th January 2011
St Marys -v- Skerries.
 
First game back after the long Christmas/Snow break.   Marys got off to a poor start conceeding an early start after 3 minutes.  5 – 0 Skerries.  From the kick-off Mary’s put Skerries under a lot of pressure and were awarded a penalty under the post.  Simon O’Donnell converted.  5 – 3 Skerries.  Shortly after Marys scored and excellent try against the run of placed – Ross Wynne scoring the try from insider his own half, converted by Simon O’Donnell 10 – 5 Marys.   Marys scored another excellent try – this time  by Luke Smith, 15 – 5.  Just before half time Skerries scored a penalty bringing the half-time score to 15 – 8 Marys.
 
The second half saw Skerries back with a very strong start and they were awarded an early penalty which they converted – 15 – 11.  After some excellent forward play and some fine passing in the backs Ryan scored an excellent try converted again by Simon O’Donnell – 22 – 11 Marys.  From the kick-off Skerries again were attacking the Marys line and they crossed for a well taken try – 22 – 16 but Marys rounded off the match with another excellent try by Ross Wynne and another conversion by Simon O’Donnell.   29 – 16.  
 
Final score – 29 – 16 Marys (Marys getting the bonus point for 4 trys).  
 
A great all round performance and great team effort but we need to be fitter and sharper round the pitch!
