St Mary’s took a very early lead after 3 mins with a well taken penalty by Ross O’Brien, but UCD hit back to level the score 3 all after 10 minutes and for the next 20 mins they controlled the game. After 15 min UCD got a very easy try,  but missed the conversion, St Mary’s  attacked straight after the kick off and out of nothing Ross  got an execellent drop goal to make the score 8 / 6 to UCD. UCD scored another easy try from a lot of missed tackles by Marys and they convertrd this one.  So with ten mins to half time, with St Mary’s trailing 15 /6 for the first time we took control of the game winning execellent line out ball. And from a line out on the left hand side of the pitch we scored the best try of the match in the right corner (scored by Barney). Half time score 15/ 11 to UCD.

A t the start of the second half both teams had players sin binned and from the penalty UCD scored to strechtheir lead 18/11. Again  we tried to put pressure on the them from the kick off and once more Ross dropped a lovely goal to make it 18 / 14. Still in game with 15 mins left we conceded a easy penalty which they converted 21 / 14 , and with 10 mins left we had another player sin binned and we conceeded two late tries to lose the match 35 / 14.
