St Mary’s -v- Coolmine
A very tight first half. Coolmine controlling the first 30 minutes putting us under a lot of pressure but we held out brilliantly even when we were down to 13 players we didn’t concede a single point. For the next 10 mins we pinned Coolmine to their goal line and were unlucky not to score a try. Nil all at half-time.
At the start of the second half Marys took an early lead with a well struk penalty by Tim Ryan. St Marys controlled most of the second half but could not break through a very tough Coolmine defence. On a rare break into our 22 Coolmine were awarded a penalty which they converted 3/3. Just after this we lost our excellent fullback David O’Halloran with a broken fibula. We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him return to play. Coolmine were awarded another penalty which they converted 6/3 to Coolmine. From the restart St Marys started to play some execellent rugby and were rewarded with an execellent try by Conor Neville . Marys lead 8/6… Final Score 8/6.
