St Marys Pennant -v- D.L.S.P.
Sunday 7th February

D.L.S.P. got off to a very good start and put Marys under a lot of pressure.  After 15 minutes they were leading 10-0.

Conditions were very heavy underfoot and D.L.S.P. adjusted better in the opening stages.  It was a very close first half but Marys gradually got together and started controlling the scrums and the lineouts,  after 35 minutes Marys were awarded a penalty which Ross O’Brien converted to leave the score 10 – 3 at half time.

At the start of the second half Marys put D.L.S.P. under a lot of pressure and were awarded an early penalty which Kieran Murphy converted bringing the score to 10 – 6.  The Marys pack were outstanding in the second half excelling in the scrum and in the loose play.  The backs defended brialliantly when they had to and attacked with great flair and confidence and were not afraid to run their ball from inside their 22 in difficult conditions.

With 10 minutes to go Marys made a great break from their 22 which led to a great and winning try by Barney – leaving the score 11 – 10 to Marys.

A great all round performance by the team in tough conditions.
