St Mary’s Pennant -v- Seapoint
Friday 5th March @ Seapoint

St Marys started the game very brightly and took an early lead with a penalty from Matt Dempsey after 5 minutes.  From the re-start St Mary’s again attacked the Seapoint goal line and Darragh Maher got over for an excellent try.  8 – 0 to Marys.

Seapoint came back strongly and were awarded a penalty which they converted from the touch-line. 8 – 3.   From the re-start Marys pilled on the pressure and after some neat passing movements Darragh Maher got his second try of the game and got injured in the process and had to leave the pitch.  Score 13 – 8 to Mary’s.  Shortly after this Mary’s scored another try by Owen McGill and converted by Matt Dempsey.  20 – 8.  From the re-start Seapoint pilled on the pressure again and crossed the line for a try which they converted leaving it 20 – 13 at half-time.

At the start of the second half Mar’s were under a lot of pressure but the defence played extremely well.  Seapoint controlled most of the second half due to bad handling errors by the Mary’s team.  A very close second half but with 5 minutes of normal time Mary’s scored an excellent try by Matt Dempsey and converted by Matt bringing the score to 27 – 13.  The final score.

Well done to all the team squad.

On Sunday March 7th as a result of the Trinity – UCD game which Trinity won the Pennant side missed out on the play-offs.   The squad now look forward to the Cup.

Thanks as always to Ritchie, Chops and Max.
