J2 XV — Season 2026/27
The current season: the J2s start in the Division 2/3 qualifying group, with a place in Division 2 or 3 to play for.
This page will be updated as the season goes on. The Metro League has changed its format for 2026/27: the old Division 2 and 3 sides first play a short qualifying round in four groups, and the groups decide who plays in Division 2 and who in Division 3 for the rest of the season. The J2s, entered as St. Mary's third team, were drawn in Group C with Bective Rangers, Navan and Old Wesley. They lost their opening game 26–63 at Bective and then 25–27 at home to Navan, collecting a losing bonus point and a try bonus point. The last group game is away to Old Wesley at Donnybrook on Friday 9 October.
