U14 Girls vs. Newbridge – Leinster League
The U14 girls kicked off their first Leinster League match away to Newbridge with an impressive try-fest.
The match started with a try from Newbridge, however the Mary’s girls didn’t let the home team away with it as they scored their own first try shortly after.
The team’s goals for the match were to make first time tackles, clear out the rucks and to make strong carries. The girls did exactly this, especially in the second half where they dominated the game with clean line breaks and team tries to ensure they took the lead.
As a team, they are still in the process of getting to know each other with some girls brand new to the sport among other experienced girls joining from other clubs. Everyone is trying out new roles and learning about positions that suit them all while focusing on ball work and having fun!
The U14s play Rugby Rebels (Coolmine/Barnhall) next in St Mary’s on Saturday 12th October, 12pm KO.
