J3 XV v Dundalk (H) 20.09.2015
Then about half way through the warm up – the rain came – and never stopped
Our team came together for the first time as one group today – and Wow – did they gel
First off – huge credit to all concerned for our full squads both yesterday and today
Even with a few late cry offs today we managed to get a few replacements
Not bad ones either
– Johnny Ellis as back row cover
– Alex Shirnov – An under 20 lad who came off the training park to join us – and scored a try too – Well done and thanks Alex
Craig Morrin played in the centre and bagged a Hat-trick
Dougal did what Dougal does – goes forward – doesn’t know the meaning of make your touch – run run run !
Tom Keogan – a half time substitute had an impressive 40 mins – and nabbed 2 tries for himself
The conditions were awful – the ball was slippy – lads were getting used to each other – but wow – the commitment was great
Fange – the Tall one had a good day, Captain Mc Phillips kept having a go – Pikey and Joe Norton were always looking to have a go too
So a nice start to the season taking on Dundalks 2nd XV and producing some quality rugby to run out easy winners 39-5
