The senior womens team played Emerald warriors in the first round of the Cup on Sunday at home.
Sunday afternoon was dry and bright with a slight breeze – sure you couldn’t ask for a better set up for a home game! Kicking off just before the Men’s J1 game the team knew they wanted to set the tone for the club for the day.
The team started well scoring twice before Emerald warriors got themselves on the score board but with that the first half finished tightly with a slim lead for the home team 19-10.
The Mary-G’s really pushed on in the second half with some superb tackling and breaks to ensure a strong win. The game ended 31-17 to the home side. Now on to the Semi Finals on the 7th of April V Navan away.
