J5 B XV 7-62 Blackrock J4/U21 Pennant

Last Thursday night, the J5 B team played a semi final game in the J6’s Cup. This Cup Competition is meant for teams that do not take part in a league. Blackrock brought a very strong side made up of players from their J4’s and U21 Pennant (who were all within the 6 match rule). Our side was many made up of players who mostly couldn’t make it onto our J5 League side.

The half time score was 43-0. Due to the one sidedness of this game we made a lot of changes throughout the second half, which made us more competitive.

This helped make it a bit more of a game. Despite being up by a lot of points, it didn’t stop a couple of Blackrock players from losing their temper. In the first incident a punch was thrown and resulted in nothing more that a short word from the ref.

Persistence by Kieran Morrissey forced his way over the Blackrock line to score our only try. Crowley converted the kick. Final score was 62-7.

We wish Blackrock all the best in the final.
